Synopsis

A comedy-drama about how people should talk more, and how friends can come from unlikely places. After Lamar's peaceful train commute is interrupted by Dina, he finds himself wrapped up in a day of socialising with people he doesn't know.

Process

Change Here For; was my final project during my last year of college, made in equal partnership with a classmate. We'd recently watched 'When Harry Met Sally', and felt unconvinced by the film's premise. While Harry believes a man and a woman can't be friends, Sally disagrees, though by the end of the film they end up as romantic partners.

We wanted to provide an opposing argument to the ending, challenging the perception that a man and a woman can't only be friends, to drive discussion around the antithesis of what the film promises. We purposely leaned into the stereotypes of certain behaviours which attract two opposite characters, to tease a sense of ambiguity between them which drove the audience to have differing opinions.
